about me
Hi, I’m Michelle, the heart behind the lens. My journey as a photographer started in high school, where I first picked up a camera. From the moment I looked through the viewfinder, I was hooked. There was something about capturing raw, unfiltered moments that felt so real—so human. Whether it was a fleeting laugh, a quiet gaze, or the joy of a simple, unposed moment, I knew photography was the way I wanted to tell stories.
The first portrait I ever took was of my Grandma, sitting in her favorite rocking chair. I didn’t know it at the time, but that shot would be the beginning of a lifelong passion to document life as it truly is. No forced smiles or stiff poses—just people, in their element, in their purest form. And as I began to travel, from the rugged coastlines of Australia to the serene temples of Japan, the bustling streets of Paris to the vast landscapes of Canada and the USA, my love for capturing the world through an authentic lens only grew stronger.
One moment that stands out? My first favorite sunset, witnessed from a boat in Kakadu National Park. The colors were mesmerizing, and as the sky shifted, I realized that a sunset like that wasn’t just about what I could see—it was about feeling the moment. And that’s how I approach my work now. It's not about orchestrating the perfect shot, but about connecting with the people I photograph, capturing the essence of who they are, and preserving that moment for them to relive, year after year.
I believe memories should be made from connections, not from perfectly matched clothes or posed smiles. Photography should feel inclusive, not intimidating—especially for those who might feel awkward or shy in front of the camera. It’s about creating an experience where people feel at ease, allowing their true selves to shine. Whether you’re behind the lens or in front of it, it’s the genuine moments that count the most.
My goal isn’t to give you a picture; it’s to give you a piece of time—a snapshot of who you are right now. Something that, when you look at it, takes you back to that exact moment and lets you relive it, with all the emotions, the laughter, and the beauty it held.
Thanks for being a part of this journey with me.
