welcome!
Your Family Petite Session is designed to capture something meaningful without needing a full family session. Whether it’s a mother and daughter, siblings, a couple, a parent with their children, or another important connection, this session is about documenting the people and relationships that matter to you.
These sessions are relaxed, natural and lightly guided. You don’t need to know how to pose or worry about being comfortable in front of the camera. I’ll give you direction when you need it while leaving room for the genuine moments in between.
I can’t wait to capture this part of your story.

So you booked your session. Now what?
I’ll review the questionnaire you completed when booking to learn more about who I’ll be photographing, what you’re hoping to capture and any preferences you have for your session. I’ll use those details to help plan your session, select the right Richmond location and prepare your model release.
location: Petite Sessions take place at select outdoor locations in Richmond. Your questionnaire gives me an idea of the setting you’re drawn to, and I’ll help determine a location that works well for your session, the time of day and the light. time: Unlike my full Family Sessions, Petite Sessions have both daytime and early-evening availability. The location will be selected with your session time and available natural light in mind.
Please arrive a little early and be ready to begin at your scheduled time. Because Petite Sessions are 30 minutes, arriving on time ensures we can make the most of your full session.
length of session: Your Petite Session is approximately 30 minutes and is designed for up to four people, with the focus on one relationship, connection or milestone.
You’ll receive a minimum of 20 edited high-resolution images in both colour and black and white, delivered through a private online gallery for easy viewing, sharing and downloading.
what to wear: Wear something that feels like you. I recommend coordinating rather than matching and choosing clothing that allows you to feel comfortable and move naturally.
Think about your location and the people you’ll be photographed with when choosing colours and outfits. Simple layers, texture and complementary colours photograph beautifully without taking attention away from you. Click HERE to read a guide I wrote to help you select what your family should wear for your petite session. I am happy to consult with you directly on wardrobe if you are interested. Just let me know.
during your petite session: You don’t need to arrive knowing what to do.
I’ll guide you throughout the session, but I’m not looking for stiff poses or forced smiles. We’ll create a mix of naturally guided portraits, connection and those little in-between moments that often become favourite images.
The goal is for your photographs to feel like you.
one last thing: Please arrive on time and ready to start. Your session time and location are selected with natural light in mind, and with a 30-minute session, every minute counts.
Most importantly, come ready to spend some time with someone who matters to you.
I truly appreciate you trusting me to capture this moment and the people who make it meaningful. It’s an honour to document this part of your story.
I can’t wait to see you!
